"Earth Picture of the Day"

This is a photo of the Gullfoss Waterfall, one of the largest and most famous in Iceland. The Gullfoss flows from April through September as the ice caps in central Iceland melt. The waterfall does not flow nearly as much during the colder months while the snow and ice accumulate. This picture one of many displayed at the Earth Science Picture of the Day website, where a variety of earth science topics are shown. (Explore the link in the "more info" button)
