A movie showing changes in the Earth's vegetation

This Upper Midwest Green Up movie shows the "green wave" that sweeps across the region in the spring. It is actually depicting changes in the NDVI (vegetation index) measured by AVHRR satellite instruments in 1999 (February 26 - November 4).
