Plant diversity maps

False color map of the distribution of the plant diversity in the world. The dark reds are tropical forests with over 6000 species per 10,000 km, the mid green have 2000-3999 plant species per 10,000 square km and the yellows have much less diversity. The highest biodiversity occurs in the tropical forests.
