Crop yields per person

The map above shows the average crop yield for all of the nations of the world. The map is shown in kilograms per capita, or the amount of crops produced divided by the number of people living in each country. Notice that the highest yields occur in the more developed nations of North America and Europe, as well as Australia, while less developed nations in Africa aren't able to produce as much. (Information was not available for the countries in gray.)
